Introducing Caraldine Nolan: Founder of Weighless Wonders (NutraVerse).

Caraldine Nolan is the visionary founder of Weighless Wonders and NutraVerse, two initiatives dedicated to empowering individuals to make informed, sustainable, and transparent food choices. Her journey into entrepreneurship was sparked by a personal experience with illness, combined with the sudden closure of Weight Watchers in Ireland. What followed was a deep dive into the health and wellness space, where she saw a pressing need for tools that help people navigate the complexities of modern nutrition. Here's an insight into Caraldine’s journey, her motivations, and her aspirations as a female founder.

Caraldine was selected for a place on the SheGenerate 4.0 programme, proudly sponsored by AIB and the British Business Bank. This programme aims to support and empower women in business, providing invaluable resources, community, and opportunities.

How would you describe yourself in 6 words or less?
"Transparent app, nutrition, sustainable choices, healthier living."

What prompted you to start your business?
The inspiration behind NutraVerse and Weighless Wonders stemmed from my personal health journey, coupled with the closing of Weight Watchers in Ireland. I saw a clear gap in the market for solutions that empower people to make informed, transparent, and sustainable food choices. My passion is rooted in the belief that food is medicine, and understanding what we eat is essential for long-term health. With ultra-processed foods becoming more prevalent and food labels increasingly misleading, I wanted to create a platform that helps people make better decisions for themselves and their families. Our target audience includes health-conscious individuals and families, especially mothers aged 24–45, as well as health professionals seeking tools to enhance their services.

Tell us a little bit more about you.
I’m originally from Laois but now live in Dublin, and my roots and community have always been a central part of my life. Prior to my entrepreneurial venture, I worked with Weight Watchers, which was a significant chapter in my career. The sudden closure of Weight Watchers in Ireland was a pivotal moment that led me to launch Weighless Wonders. It was an opportunity to channel my passion for food transparency and nutrition into something meaningful. Outside of work, I enjoy reading research papers, listening to podcasts, and engaging in community initiatives. This year, I’m proud to serve as the President of Network Dublin and connect with like-minded individuals.

Fill us in on your female founder journey.
My journey as a female founder has been one of growth, resilience, and self-discovery. While it’s been exciting to see the positive impact of our work, it hasn’t come without challenges. As a woman in the health and tech sectors, I’ve faced biases and had to navigate industries where women are underrepresented. I’ve worn many hats, from leading my team to diving into app development and securing funding. However, with each challenge, I’ve learned to trust my instincts and embrace adaptability. Mentorship has played a key role in helping me refine my approach, and I’ve found the greatest satisfaction in building a supportive community of fellow entrepreneurs. Being a female founder is about more than just building a business—it’s about inspiring others, especially women, to take charge of their own paths.

How did you hear about AwakenHub and what prompted you to apply for SheGenerate?
I first came across AwakenHub through a recommendation from a female participant who spoke highly of the community. I’ve been following Mary on LinkedIn for a while, and her insights into supporting female founders resonated with me. When I learned about SheGenerate, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to grow both personally and professionally, as it aligns with where I am in my entrepreneurial journey. The chance to access a network of like-minded women and gain further support made applying an easy decision.

What have you gotten out of the SheGenerate process so far?
Although it’s still early days, I’m already seeing the potential of the SheGenerate process. One of my main goals is to gain a deeper understanding of how to attract angel investment and connect with investors who align with my vision for NutraVerse. Additionally, I’m looking forward to raising my profile, connecting with other founders, and learning from their experiences. The process is already opening doors to invaluable networking and mentorship opportunities.

What does success look like to you in 12 months and in 5 years?
In 12 months, success for Weighless Wonders means measurable growth: expanding NutraVerse’s user base, doubling enrolment in our health programmes, securing investment to scale, and raising my profile as a thought leader in nutrition and sustainability.

In 5 years, I envision NutraVerse as a household name across Europe, influencing policy around food transparency, and having a profound impact on global health and wellness. I also see the business becoming financially sustainable with multiple revenue streams and partnerships with health organisations and eco-conscious brands. On a personal level, success means growing as a leader and mentoring other female founders.

Now that you have the community's attention, what can we do for you?
I’m excited to be part of the AwakenHub community, and I would love the chance to pitch my business in 2025 if such an opportunity arises. I’m also seeking guidance and connections to help navigate the angel investment process. Any mentorship, workshops, or introductions to potential investors who share my vision would be incredibly valuable. Additionally, I’d appreciate support in raising my profile further across Ireland, whether through events, speaking opportunities, or media features within the AwakenHub network.

As a founder, what are your non-negotiables?
My non-negotiables revolve around authenticity, purpose, and impact. Transparency is central to everything we do—whether it’s in how we approach food, how we lead our teams, or how we engage with our community. I also live by the phrase: "Progress over perfection," reminding myself that growth is a journey and every small step counts. I draw inspiration from leaders like Brené Brown, who turn vulnerability into action, and local changemakers who make a real difference within their communities.

Six Words to Live By:
"Empower health, inspire change, embrace resilience.”
