AwakenHub featured in Rose Review 2023

AwakenHub is thrilled to be featured as a Case Study in the 2023 Rose Review Progress Report published at the end of February 2023.

Despite a challenging economic backdrop, this year’s report demonstrates the resilience of female founders, and the initiatives in place to help them grow with noticable increases in women founded businesses in the UK. However, Northern Ireland figures are lower than the average at 2% securing investment in 2022 and of course at AwakenHub we want to do something about that, not only in Northern Ireland but across the island of Ireland and beyond.

If for any reason you are not on our mailing list please sign up below (link at the bottom of every page on our website). And if you want to get more directly involved as woman founder then check out our JOIN options. We are also open to sponsor/partner discussions - please get in touch.

Read the whole thing naturally but you can check us out on page 16.

Some Key points from the report:

  • Women founded over 150,000 new companies last year – more than ever before and twice as many as were founded in 2018.

  • The biggest leap was among 16-25-year-old female founders, which rose by almost a quarter.

  • Over the past year, across the UK Rose Review partners offered 800,000 opportunities to access schemes and support including networking events, mentorship and masterclasses.

  • A total of 190 financial services institutions have now signed the Investing in Women Code; this is up from 134 last year, representing a more than 41% rise.

In 2019, we revealed that £250bn could be added to the UK economy if women matched men in starting and scaling businesses. Despite progress, in order to make this a reality there are still significant challenges to overcome, particularly in the face of challenging economic headwinds. To unlock this potential and support female founders, in 2023 we want to go even further and offer additional support to female founders and have set out a series of commitments to help us achieve this.
