It’s a good news week at AwakenHub and we are thrilled to announced that AwakenHub co-founder, Sinead Crowley has been listed as one of the EU Top 100 Women in Social Enterprise 2023. Shortlised from over 900 applications it’s no surprise to us as we know how hard Sinead works pretty much every day to help build AwakenHub and is a source of inspiration and joy to her fellow co-founders, Team AwakenHub and our community.

Sinead’s hope for the younger generation of women chasing their dreams and realising their ambitions is “That they are fearless. Know their worth. Understand women often look to establish their own business based on a personal experience and a desire to have a positive impact on society. The world desperately needs what they have to offer. Failure is not to be feared or to feel shame about. That men often wear failure as a badge of honour and women wear it like a crown of thorns. My hope is that future generations in the founder eco-system will not feel like this and society will view them differently – or more accurately will view them ‘the same as everyone else’.”

For almost 15 years, Euclid Network (EN) fosters social entrepreneurship and social innovation in Europe through knowledge exchange, capacity building, networking and international advocacy. In the spirit of empowering women leaders in Europe, EN launched the Top 100 Women in Social Enterprise initiative in 2020. Through this initiative, EN celebrates women in the social enterprise sector, spotlighting their impact journey and achievements, connecting them to learn from and inspire each other

Since 2020, Euclid Network's (EN) Top 100 Women in Social Enterprise initiative has given a platform to women that contribute to society through their innovation and entrepreneurship. In the spirit of empowering women leaders in Europe and accelerating progress towards a more gender-equal world, this carefully selected list celebrates women in the social enterprise sector, spotlighting their impact journey and achievements, connecting them to inspire and learn from each other. After receiving over 900 applications from incredible women leaders in the European social enterprise ecosystem, EN together with an expert jury has compiled the list of the Top 100 Women in Social Enterprise who have demonstrated significant social and/or environmental impact in 2023.

Under #EmbraceEquity, this list aims to represent the cultural, economic, religious, ethnic, racial, gender, physical/mental, and sexually diverse European social enterprise sector.

International Women’s Day 2023 celebrates the efforts of women and girls in shaping a more equal future. We can all break the bias and help create a more inclusive world.
