St. Brigid’s Day - Trio of Irish Women founders revolutionizing the SportsTech/ Women in SportsTech

As Irish connected people across the globe celebrate St. Brigid’s Day we wanted to showcase the incredible talent, innovation and pure grit of three founders from across the island of Ireland revolutionizing the SportsTech startup space.

Meet Naomi McGregor, Founder of Movetru, Emma Meehan, Founder, CEO & CTO of Precision Sports Technology and Yvonne Comer, Co-Founder of SportsSmarts (RugySmarts).

Three women from totally different backgrounds, two from Galway and the third from Antrim. A former ballerina, international rugby player and a technologist & weightlifter - all with a passion to solve pressing issues in sports - from rehabilitation to player game diagnostics.

The trio are in Boston and New York to pitch to rooms full of investors, VC’s, Family Firms and highly connected Irish diaspora with a commercial interest in British and Irish startups.

Movetru is revolutionizing sports technology by providing real-time injury mitigation and performance improvements for athletes. Their wearable leverages kinematic and kinetic analytics to offer on-field insights that redefine athletic performance and injury mitigation. With successful trials involving over 85 athletes, strategic partnerships including Antrim Camogie and Blackburn Rovers, Movetru showcases undeniable market traction. Backed by ongoing negotiations with Premier League and NFL teams, They target the lucrative global sports medicine market, estimated to reach £7.9 billion by 2026. Powered by proprietary machine learning, data algorithms, and sensor technology, Movetru is transforming the way athletes train and perform.

Precision Sports Technology is currently raising investment for it’s real-time exercise feedback and analysis software platform to reduce risk of injury, enhance performance and increase participation in strength & conditioning and physiotherapy. Delivering greater than 95% the accuracy of a motion capture lab, but with results in less than 1% of the time with no wearables or technicians required. Live with early customer pilots and deals lined up with teams across the NBA, NFL, MLB and the US National Soccer Team.

SportSmarts, currently trading as RugbySmarts is an innovative, deep tech start-up, focused on changing the face of performance analytics for team sports. Offering a cloud-based AI driven platform built by coaches for coaches that identifies key improvement areas for their team. They have automated the manual elements of video analysis so coaches can focus on better decisions for their strategies, players, performance and ultimately drive better results.

The impressive trio are part of the 25 strong delegation participating in AwakenHub & AwakenAngels 2nd USA Trade Mission the first week in February taking in both Boston and New York to coincide with St. Brigid’s Day.
