St. Brigid’s Pitchers Line Up for Boston and New York 2024

As we gear up for our 2nd Annual St. Brigid’s Day Trade Mission to the USA we wanted to showcase the first 3 of the 9 women (part of an overall delegation of 25) who will be pitching at our exclusive events in Boston on 5 February and New York on 7 February.

Mary McIntaggart, Founder Academic Fish based in Belfast is creating an interactive learning experience that facilitates access to the math curriculum through languages; currently in English, Chinese and Irish. Translations are not machine generated which can be frustratingly wrong, but by mathematicians so curriculum based, learner friendly and correct. They have the potential to extend to other languages and other subjects.

“Being part of the AwakenHub & AwakenAngels Trade Mission to NYC provides a unique opportunity for Academic Fish to develop relationships with EDtech, prospective partnerships and investors interested in inclusive education..”

Registered Nutritional Therapists, Jennie and Lisa left corporate life to follow their passion to make symptom-free menstrual cycles the norm through sustainable, superior quality supplements. Gigi’s debut product, the PMS & Hormone Balance Blend has taken the latest clinical nutrition research to provide women with relief from debilitating monthly Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) symptoms.

As current participants in AwakenHub’s SheGenerate accelerator they have also been selected to pitch for investment at exclusive curated events with US / Irish investors, VC’s, family firms and interested commercial companies.

Make it stand out

Karen told us “Taylor Yates is on a mission to create a new dynamic luxury model which shapes a responsible, progressive and inclusive future for fashion, from the beautiful Causeway Coast of Ireland. I’m thrilled to be visiting New York and Boston with this group of amazing entrepreneurs. It will be fast paced, it will be busy, it will be fun!”

Taylor Yates started initially with leather handbags, crafted from responsibly sourced leather in 2016. They have since expanded into knitwear, handmade in Belfast and most recently, Bamboo Silk clothing. From a 500sqft studio store in Bushmills, Taylor Yates has built a cult following among women who know who they are, what they want and how they want to shop going forward.

The Trade Mission coincides with St. Brigid’s Day. The 25 strong delegation will take part in a mixture of events and meetings organised by AwakenHub & AwakenAngels, St.Brigid's Day events with the Irish Consul General Helena Nolan in New York; in addition to exclusive private events hosted by the British Consul General to New England, Dr Peter Abbott OBE, with Special Guest Joseph Kennedy III, Special Envoy to Northern Ireland for Economic Affairs; the British Consul's Private Residence in New York and a private briefing with Irish Consul General Sighle Fitzgerald in Boston.

Guest lists have been meticulously curated to include potential investors, venture capitalists, and those with a keen commercial interest in founders from the Island of Ireland.
